Anal skin tag can happen when the skin has been stretched (e.g as a result of piles) and has not shrunk back. It is common after Child birth. This may result in hygiene issues or issues relating to self confidence.

Your consultant surgeon will use a local anaesthetic injection to numb the area and then carryout an excision of the skin tag. You can return home the same day and usually return to usual within 2 days.
