A Hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the Uterus. A Gynaecologist may recommend a Hysterectomy for the following conditions

Heavy Periods not responding to other treatments

A Hysterectomy can be done in one of 3 methods

1. A vaginal Hysterectomy

2. Open Abdominal Hysterectomy

3. Key Hole Abdominal Hysterectomy

Your Gynaecologist will assist you to decide the best method if a Hysterectomy is needed. Your Gynaecologist may also recommend various procedures including

Total Hysterectomy

Subtotal Hysterectomy

Radical Hysterectomy

Removal of Ovaries and Fallopian Tubes along with Hysterectomy

This procedure will require General Anaesthesia and you will need admission to our Hospital from 3 to 5 days. It will take around 2 months to recover from this procedure.
