Shoulder Decompression Surgery

Shoulder Decompression Surgery

A shoulder decompression or subacromial decompression may be required to repair damaged tendons in the shoulder area. Usually this is done under General Anaesthsia and the surgeon uses key hole surgery (arthroscopy) to identify damaged tissue and carry our the repair.

The treatment is carried out as a day case procedure and you will go home in a sling to use for 3 weeks. You will also need medications for pain relief. Full results will take 6 months.
